Governance
The SSS methodology is maintained through a transparent, stakeholder-driven process designed to ensure the framework remains credible, defensible, and aligned with evolving carbon accounting standards.
Methodology Working Group
The SSS Resource Registry Methodology Working Group is a voluntary advisory body that convenes periodically to review and refine the SSS methodology. The working group includes representatives from:
- Corporate energy buyers and sustainability teams
- Utilities and retail electricity suppliers
- Third-party verification bodies
- Carbon accounting practitioners and consultants
The working group provides input on methodology updates, reviews proposed changes to SSS qualification criteria, and helps ensure alignment with GHG Protocol Scope 2 guidance and other relevant standards.
Participation is open to qualified stakeholders with relevant expertise. For more information about joining the working group, contact info@sssregistry.com.
Verification Standards
All SSS reports undergo third-party verification following fixed-scope audit procedures. Verifiers are selected through a rotation process with published conflict-of-interest assessments to maintain independence and credibility.
